The thesis centers on the design and realization of SSMN (Single SIM Multiple Number) Service System.The technology used by SSMN is based on mobile virtual MSC/VLR (Mobile Switching Center/Visiting Location Register) technology, allowing secondary phone number over a permanent resident platform. Through virtual MSC/VLR, all the secondary phone numbers of the SSMN users are registered and permanently stayed in the virtual MSC/VLR platform. The virtual MSC/VLR platform is equivalent to the MSC/VLR in the visiting location for, all these secondary phone numbers. In the mobile network, the secondary is always in power-on mode and under the control of this platform.When the mobile network implements subscriber routing for the secondary phone number, from information search to call initialization and SMS sending, all the services related to the secondary phone number will be forwarded to this service platform in real-time mode. Different from the traditional MSC/VLR, the secondary phone number for SSMN does not need a real SIM module. Subscribers cannot change the status of the secondary phone number; therefore there will not be any mobility management functions such as location update, handover, etc. All the functions will be managed by the virtual MSC/VLR platform.This thesis has elaborated on below points:1. Feasibility analysis, from both service and technical perspective.2. Elaboration on the telecom technologies relevant to the service, and detailed explanation on the design of system architecture and service flow.3. Details of the service solution, including networking and billing solution.
