Unexpected events happen frequently at present time. For mass media, it's not only a challenge but also an opportunity. During the reporting of unexpected events , mass media can transmit information and conduct the audiences'acknowledge by it's vantage. This dissertation uses the theory of agenda-setting, issue-setting and Shoemaker's analysis upon the factors that have influence on the content of mass media, discusses how the media use the issue-setting theory in the practice of reporting the unexpected events happened in our country and it's influencing factors. At the same time , it concludes several patterns of issue-subsidizing and discusses the influencing factors of the issue-subsidizing of unexpected events. In the end , the thesis gives some advice on how can the media improve the ability of issue-setting and play the role better. |
