The Research And Design Of "High School Science Virtual Experiment System"

The virtual experiment system is a sort of computer application system which simulates the science experiments by virtual reality technology. First, this paper introduces the development of virtual experiment systems around the world, and proposes the problems of this system applied in the teaching of high school science virtual experiments. Then the paper provides a solution to the virtual experiment systems which adapts to the characteristic of high school science experiments.High School Science Virtual Experiment System contents of high school science experiment (experimental subjects such as physics and chemistry etc.), and applying of virtual methods, it constructed a group of tools serving the teachers and students in and after class to simulate the experiment. The system changes the modality of knowledge, thereby solves the problems of the limited of time and space, the disadvantage cause of high cost, the difficult of danger of the real experiments.The system compose of 3 parts: Virtual Experiment Engine(VEE),Resource Files,Client Application. As the core part of the system, VEE completes the configurations and creations of the graphic render, audio, Human-Computer Interaction, physics simulation, environment of experiment etc. VEE and the Resource files constitute the kernel business and base data of the user applications. Client Application includes Resource Creator and Applications of Virtual Experiment. The teachers and developers could create experiment materials and projects with Resource Creator. Then the Application of Virtual Experiment could be use in class for demonstration. To make the engine superior, flexible, extensible and portable, We integrate several famous open source projects, instance of OGRE(Object-Oriented Graphics Rendering Engine), ODE(Open Dynamic Engine), CEGUI (Crazy Eddie's GUI), OpenAL(Open Audio Library), OIS(Object-oriented Input Library).
