WiMAX is a BWAMAN technology based on IEEE 802.16 with the All-IP Network architecture. ITU has authorized to make Mobile WiMAX become the fourth 3G standard. As wireless transmission channel is open, its confidential security problem is more conspicuous. Therefore, IEEE802.16e introduced AES-CCM encryption package protocol, which is implemented by the 128 bits key AES algorithm. Combined with the CCM mode that is for data confidentiality and data integrity authentication, the Packaging structure of MAC PDU, the Protocol greatly solves the confidentiality lacks of anti-replay protection and the insecurity of encryption algorithm.Firstly, Taking the WiMAX receiver as an example, This Paper introduced receiver system architecture and its baseband chip structure, specified the function of AES-CCM encryption agreement in the baseband chip, designed and implemented AES-CCM IP core, which followed processor interface chip bus structure and timing rules and used as a Coprocessor of embedded processor in baseband chip, achieved AES encryption and decryption of the IP core , too.Secondly, this paper proposed the architecture, description, design process of the AES-CCM, described Module division, interface and implementation methods of the AES-CCM in detail, introduced the function, design method and interface of sub-modules. This paper also introduced the AES encryption, decryption IP core and its overall structure, interface, showed function and implementation methods of AES sub-modules.Thirdly, the design is evaluated by means of Sythesis, Fitter, Static Timing Analyzer, Functional Simulation, Timing Simulation and verified on FPGA. The Operating frequency, occupation of resources, throughput, and other parameters were analyzed on IP core. Paper concluded the work and its direction in future at last.
