With the increase of world economy and development of information technology, more and more users have the requirement of broadband access to data, audio and video. Traditional access techniques have become the bottleneck in the development of the next generation broadband communication networks, therefore broadband access is considered to be an inevitable trend. Among the numerous burgeoning access technologies, broadband wireless access has attracted the most attention from the communication industry during recent years, due to its particular advantages in system performance. As abroadband wireless access scheme for WMAN (Wireless Metropolitan Area Networks), WiMAX(World Interoperability for Microwave Access) has received primary concern because of its outstanding system performance and wide market outlook.The paper is based on design and realization of network subscribe station. IEEE802.16e protocol requires to deal with these operations of code-encoding and modulation-demodulation, which include much complicated arithmetic. Because some operations adapt to hardware logical and others adapt to digital signal process, the design adopts the framework of FPGAs + DSPs finally. Considering different disposal to received and transmited data,the paper analyzes the work operation of uplink and downlink in detail,and divides up various function modules. At last the paper make a particular design on FPGA of system.The design considers the difference of FPGA and DSP, avoids communication complication among equipments,and simplified data flow when data flux is satisfied . At same time the design avoids complication of delay addition and interface bandwidth attemper. Finally whole design finishes entire physical layer baseband process function based on 802.16e network subscribe station.
