Web Services is a rising distributed technology. With the in-depth research on reuse and combination of Web services, Web Services discovery technology has become very important. The existing Web Services discovery methods mostly focus on the service description, the structure of service, selection and matching of service. A flawless Web Services discovery process must includes integrated Web Services description, but the traditional Web Services descriptions are too simple. First, the traditional mode focus on function of service interface descriptions, and limited in keyword-based matches. Owing to the problem of semantic heterogeneous during the services description, the recall ratio was inefficient. Second, the information of service descriptions, based on the traditional mode, can not guarantee the relevance and completeness, because the users can not obtain the information about the security and the survivability. Maybe, to some extent, the traditional semantic Web Services descriptions are not ideal. The semantic Web Services is the impulse in developing Web Services. OWL-S is the Web Services ontology description language. It characterizes the semantic categories, the service functional information IOPE (Input, Output, Precondition, Effect) and a spot of QoS information. Apparently, they are limited.Based on analysis of the OWL-S, the UDDI registry mechanism, and the DAML-S/UDDI structure, an improved method is presented, which introduces the non-functional parameters in the process of services discovery. The following contents are studied in this thesis.1. Based on analysis of the existing services description technology, this thesis introduces the non-functional parameters, extends OWL-S Web Services ontology, advances the method of adopting parameters and accounting values.2. This thesis improves the matching algorithm and function of accounting the service degree of similitude, besides, introduces the decision-making methods in service choice. Each service parameter is given a weighted value in calculating the sum, then the decision-making obtains an ordering of services.3. This thesis presents a framework based on the service discovery extending non-functional parameters description, adding QSS Authentication Center to the framework to manage the non-functional parameters.4. E-BOOK book sale system was designed to evaluate the usability and effectiveness of the framework. This thesis validates usability and effectiveness of the discovery process using a typical case study.
