Analysis Of WLAN Structure And Aggressive Testing Of Its Security

Recently, wireless LANs are developing more and more rapidly, which have a large number of connections and are constructed agilely. It has an advantaged superiority in the transport and moving of data. As the application of wireless LAN has developed, however, its security has received more and more attention.Based on experiments we begin to be familiar to the WLAN and give an aggressive test on the security issues. In Chapter 1 and Chapter 2, we present the development, structure, performance of WLAN and protocols and technology used by WLAN. Chapter 3 describes the whole process of the experiment, including WLAN construction, network discover, network monitoring and initiative test. Chapter 4 analyse the security mechanism of the WLAN and its concrete weaknesses. Chapter 5 focuses on WEP which is widely used in WLAN for security, and analyzes the implementation mechanism of the softwares. In Chapter 6, we analyse the serious weaknesses in WEP and attack method. At the end of the paper ,we give the conclusion of the test, and come up with some suggestions on how to arrive to the best security depending on nowadays technology conditions, and predict the development of the WLAN security.
