With the constant development of the Intemet as well as the rapid been development of computer technology and communication technology,the embedded system has already widely permeated through each aspect of scientific research,engineering design,military technology,various industries,commercial culture and arts and daily life,etc.With the advantages of good stability,dependability,disclosed source code,available of prune and flee of the copyright,Linux operating system has become a whiff of new strength in the embedded field,owning enormous market potential and commercial value.Therefore the study on embedded Linux operating system and the application in complicated instrument have important realistic meanings.It is well-known that the mass spectrum is an irreplaceable vital analytical instrument in fields such as life sciences,material science,food security,environmental monitoring,etc.With the rapid development of above-mentioned fields,the mass spectrum unites instrument has become one of the fastest increasing analytical instruments.But in our nation,the mass spectrum unites instrument are almost depended on importing,Basing on such background,the thesis studies and designs the main board whicst imbedding Linux operating system as core while applied it to the first batch of independent mass spectrum instruments which developed through the key technology by China.The thesis consists of six parts altogether.In the first part,the source,purpose,significance and the application background—mass spectrum instrument are presented including the basic principle and components.Meanwhile,the current developed situations of mass spectrum analytical instruments and the current situations and trends of embedded system are explained and summarized at home and abroad,too. In the second part,the thesis introduces the hardware design of main board of embedded system.Firstly, the choice of ARM 9 microprocessor chip and the whole design scheme of main board hardware circuit have been discussed;Then each hardware circuit module is stated separately,including microprocessor ATMEL9200,the power of main board,SDRAM memory,FLASH memory,Ethemet,video display, audio frequency,RTC,PC/104 interface,UART interface and USB interface.Secondly,focusing on solving the problem of the compatibility between systematic hardware PCB design and the electromagnetism,the devising directions of the printed circuit boards of the main board have been introduced.In the third part,the transplanted problems of embedded Linux operating system are discussed,three components of embedded Linux operating system have been explained in detail:system guide procedure,kernel of Linux and file of root system,what is more,the modification,clipping, compile and transplanting of source code of those three components have been described specifically.The fourth part presents the design which is relevant to the driver program of embedded observe and control main board.After summing up the equipment driver program with embedded Linux operating system, taking the designs of PC/104 bus driver and network card DM9161 driver as an example,the comply and revising methods as well as the intention of the driver program of the observed and controlled thinking main board system have been introduced.In the fifth part,some performances of the main board of measurement and control system are tested and the corresponding conclusions have been drawn according to the test result including the tests of main board power,the tests of the function of PC/104 bus, the index testing of PC/104 reading capability,the test network data transmission as well as the video interface.In addition to that,the test results and main board that had been used in the previous period of subject experiment have been compared with corresponding conclusion and the space to promote further has been discovered.The main board for mass spectrum measurement and control system based on ARM 9 designed by the thesis has been applied to GC-MS successfully,the innovation lies in:First,the 32 bytes ARM 9 processors,Linux operating system successful have been applied in the rare and complicate instruments which are demanded urgently by the nation successfully;Second,comparing with main board that used in the previous subject experiment,the observe and control system main board designed by the thesis own more abundant and perfect module,interface and file system,and in the aspects of consumption,read and write ability consistently,transmission speed of network data,etc.it get obvious improvement in the tests; it will provide the possibility in better performance,miniaturized,intelligentized,portability of the mass spectrum instrument.Third,the observe and control system main board designed in the thesis applied comparatively commonly used PC/104 interface,so it owns stronger commonability in the other observe and control instruments system which get the PC/104 interface.
