With the rapid development of modern computer technology and Internet techniques, the embedded system becomes one of the attention focus in IT industry. Nowadays, ARM with 32-bit embedded processor becomes the most widely applied for its extraordinary performance and low power consumption. The Embedded Linux also will take the dominant place of embedded operation system because of its strong feature, free using and abundant resource.In this paper we realized a Embedded LINUX platform which is based on the ARM9 SOC(S3C2410). We analyed the hardware and software structure of the Embedded LINUX system; we presented the design and debug of the hardware system. Based-on the analysis of the booting and loading process of the Embedded system, we implemented the transplantation of U-BOOT on our platform. After the detailed analysis of the work process of LINUX system, we selected the LINUX 2.6 system as our operating system and introduced the transplantation entirely. Based-on the analysis of the LINUX file system and the comparasion between the Embedded file system, the YAFFS+CRAMFS file system scheme is adopted as the file system of our platform, also the implantation process is introduced in detail. Finally we implemented our embedded GUI through the QT/Embedded+Qtopia. By contraposing the development of LINUX drivers, a multimedia player is implemented.
