Automatic Regression Test System Development

With the development of computer application, the software test has become more and more important. Ensuring the quality of software and improving the reliability of software are the key point of software development. Regression test is one of the most important part in software test. It is available in every stage of the test. This project is on the basis of discussion of the technology of regression test. It develops the automatic regression test system which makes the process of regression test automatic.This thesis begins with discussion of the technology of regression test, analyzing the key point of regression test, such as test model and strategy. It is used for the development of automatic regression test system. Next, I make the architect and development work. Finally, I apply it to the real project to show the process of automatic regression test.This thesis is focus on the development of automatic regression test system. The first step is to understand the content and process of regression test. I analyze the existing test model and make it improved. The new model can make the regression test working with the development in every stage. Besides that, I analyze the four regression test strategies. Especially for the 'test modified part' strategy, I give the arithmetic of it and make it realizable.The automatic regression test system has three main parts: testcase management, regression process management and result collection. The users are test manager and test executor. As a result of their different task, they have different right to access the system. Besides that, the design of the process of regression test is one of the most important part in this thesis.This project is focus on the research of automatic regression test. It is successful and it can be used to test the real project. But it has some disadvantages and waits for the later improvement.
