Research And Development Of Remote Multi-media Teaching System Based On FMS

Remote multi-media teaching is the convergence of computer technology, multimedia and network technology, and other modern means of teaching technology. Based on streaming media technology of remote multi-media teaching system is an important implementation of multi-media teaching methods. This study has summarized the status and development trend of remote multi-media teaching system, analyzed the key technologies of streaming media application. With the actual needs of our college and according to the design ideas, it has been proposed for the overall remote multi-media teaching design options including the system architecture and the function of the subsystem design.The paper focus on the real-time interactive multimedia subsystem of based on streaming media technology remote teaching system. It analyzed the process of real-time interactive video transmission and the ways of video stream transmission in various protocols. At last, the case system was designed and achieved with the actual needs.The system used software-only means to achieve and based on Flash streaming media technology as the support, which finished the various functional modules to provide services to users.The case of system tested that: real-time audio and video streaming transmited clearly and smoothly in RTMP, achieved the interactive audio and video and text content, synchronized the teacher-side and student-side courseware, and occupied a little bandwidth. The application of system is suitable for LAN as well as for Internet, which meet the needs to real-time teaching and for on-line learning software to provide a good environment.
