With the rapid developments of MEMS (micro-electro-mechanism system), integrated circuits, wireless communication and information networks, wireless sensor networks (WSN) are becoming recent years Academia and industry research focus as a new application pattern of Ubiquitous Computing. Integrated with data collecting, processing and communicating, sensor networks are also inexpensive, easy to be placed and environmental adaptive, they have broad prospects in fields of military, environment, medical and family etc. How to build reliable sensor network application in limited resources is the key of the real sensor network application.. The thesis mainly discusses the mobile-based agent active wireless sensor network architecture and middleware technology.Firstly the thesis introduces the current application survey and existing problems of sensor network, points out the limitations of client/server based application. We make use of the thought of active network and mobile agent in wired networks, according to sensor network application character, put forward a new sensor network architecture, namely active wireless sensor network architecture, which is different from the traditional client/server model. In view of no existing pure middle nodes like Router in sensor network, the core of active wireless sensor network architecture is to let middle nodes have ability of"computing", that is to say, in some condition any sensor node can process the message arrived, for example data fusion. So active wireless sensor network is a new computing pattern, the"store-computing-transmit"mode, no longer the traditional"store-transmit"mode.After deeply discussing the Similarities and Differences between active network and mobile agent, the thesis presents and implements a mobile-based agent middleware MobCor. MobCor supports active wireless sensor network, and it solves the middle nodes'"computing"problem in active wireless sensor network. The MobCor's main achievements are the realization of microinstruction set for Wireless sensor networks and mobile agent structure, mobile agent scheduling and executing, mobile agents'cooperation and etc. Finally, to validate the performance of MobCor, the thesis utilizes MobCor to simulate the sensor network application in precision agriculture. The results indicate that a complex application can be implemented simply in MobCor, and at the same time it decreases the amount of transmit data in network, and prolongs network lifetime.
