Research On Security Mechanism In MM-MAN

Mobile Multimedia Metropolitan Area Network (MM-MAN) is a new network technology which facilitates the high-speed users in metropolitan area. The goal of this network is to provide high-bit-rate multimedia information service for high-mobility users, which would make users enjoy resources and information of Internet or private LAN at anytime and anywhere.Like other wireless networks, security is still a very important problem in MM-MAN. Users'communication information will be eavesdropped more easily when they move into MM-MAN, and their original LAN would be threatened if users'identity such as original IP address be captured by malicious attacker.To solve the security problem in MM-MAN, this paper proposed a new link establishment and mixed anonymous authentication scheme which is based on Ellipse Curve Cryptosystem and One-key Cryptosystem.Furthermore, we introduced a method to update the temporary IP address dynamically. With the new scheme, the security of the network has been improved under the consideration of the mobile terminal's computation limitation and without changing the network structure.
