With the development of the internet, the internet becomes an important tool for retrieving information. How to manage the great number of information effectively becomes a great challenge. And also content management technology and content management system become hot topics. Content management is widely used in various information-dense areas, including web site, health care, finance, insurance, etc.Content repository is an information management system for content management system. It provides services of storage, access and management of content. Besides structured storage system, content repository also provides some basic services, e.g. version control, access control, retrieval and query, event monitor, etc. In order to access content repository in a unified interface, JCP develops JSR-170 Specification, which hides the details of accessing content repository for content management system. However, content management system based on the JSR-170 Specification has some shortages, e.g. hard to change content structure, lack of powerful query mechanism, hard to share and synchronize content, etc. In this paper, we introduce the idea of two-level modeling into content management system, propose a content repository model based on two-level modeling, and implement a prototype of content management system based on two-level modeling. This paper has the following innovations. Firstly, we introduce the idea of two-level modeling and the concept of metadata into content management system, and create the prototype of content management system based on two-level modeling. Secondly, we design the data query language MQL based on XQuery, and provide the mapping mechanism from MQL to XQuery. Finally, we propose the architecture of the synchronization service of metadata based on SCA, and also the design patterns of the update service and merge service.
