As the product of computer network and multimedia technology, Modern Distance Education has been accepted by more and more people.For long-distance teaching, interaction is a major problem which prevents its development. And under the existing IPv4 network, video transmission quality is very lower, therefore need to design an interactive remote video teaching system which based on IPv6 network and can guarantee the quality of video and audio.This article first gives a brief introduction to remote video teaching system and analyzes the necessity of remote video teaching from the perspective of Education Communication and Humanistic theory. Then researches on the role of IPv6 and multicast technology in video transmission, and does in-depth studies on the video and audio related technology, including streaming media technology, QoS control technology, video and audio coding technology. Through the use of video Synthesis technology and load balancing technology on server to enhance video and audio performance.Finally design a remote interactive video teaching system based on IPv6, adopt "Teacher-led and Learner-centered" teaching model, and in accordance with this mode analyze the system's functions, structure and workflow, etc.The research in this paper is of practical significance. It uses IPv6 Multicast technology and multimedia technology to ensure quality of service such as audio and video. Thus design a functional remote video teaching system which could provide better service to long-distance teaching.
