Experimental Research of laser-produced high energy X-ray source is one of the important parts of ICF (Inertial Confinement Fusion). Firstly, after studying the character of the X-ray, we can obtain basic plasma characteristic parameters such as electron temperature, electron density, electron distribution, expanding velocity of plasma and depositing of laser energy. Secondly, we can develop high-energy and quasi-monochromatic X-ray source by optimizing laser parameters, then, utilize the source to diagnose the samples by means of radiography. X-ray source is a broad subject with great importance. Our research will be focused on the characters of Laser-produced multi-keV X-ray source, and experimental methods of backlighting. Then, we will adapt these methods to other correlative subjects of ignition physics. In the fist chapter of this paper, the background of laser-produced X-ray source (LPXS) research was given out, in which the concept of ICF and its relationship with LPXS were briefly specified. The second chapter was the basic theories of LPXS, including laser target coupling, laser-X-ray conversion and X-ray absorption. In the third chapter, recent foreign progresses and tendency on LPXS were introduced. Due to the importance of X-ray detector, the fourth chapter analyzed the detectors in our eyeshot. The fifth chapter was the most important part, in the first section of which the framework of X-ray diagnosis was analyzed. Then, in the following sections our progresses on X-ray spectrum diagnosis and point projection method were given, and the experimental results were laid out with discusses. Finally, the conclusion and expectation of the subject was explained.
