Along with the applications and popularity of the computer network technology, it becomes a necessary trend that information is transmitted, distributed and retrieved safely and quickly on the network, and paperless office work is gradually fulfilled, so that Enterprise Information Portal system in the network environment should be designed and implemented in each firms to meet the challenges.By dividing the traditional office jobs into well-defined tasks,roles,rules and processes, the information portal system is to use computer system to execute automatically a variety of office operations such as files distributing,reviewing, transactions,log-recording,reminding, urging and surrogating, and so on. After analyzing the competitive situation facing the firms of the academic periodical publishing as well as their reforming demand, this thesis presents that information portal system implementation is the urgent need for these firms.This thesis begins with presenting the characteristics of the information portal system; analyzing comparatively the situation of information portal system application in academic periodical publishing; making a sound study on the application of object-oriented technology in information portal; presenting an information portal system designing plan based on object-oriented technology; and putting forward one designing method based on the object-oriented technology, which can be used in the implantation of information portal system.Then, taking into consideration of the management system and mode with the"Packaging Engineering"periodical publishing firm, this thesis accomplishes the demand analysis, the whole information portal system planning and function-dividing on the basis of object-oriented analysis and design method. Main system roles are identified through the analysis of the firm's workflow. The use-cases that are relevant to the system roles are found out by use-case analysis of the system. Based on the above analysis, the sequence between the system roles and the system interactions are studied. Then after the completion of system demand analysis and database design, the model building on the basis of demand analysis is refined with unified model-building programming language.Finally, the thesis analyzes and optimizes the workflow of the information portal system, makes the detail design for the functions in the subsystem, based on the adoption of computer system structure B/S mode and the software engineering methodology. Finally, this thesis conceives efficient, maintainable, reusable and flexible information portal system for the academic periodical publishing firms.
