Conceptual design is the most creative phase in the products innovational design, it decides the basic character and main frame of products.In this paper, the strategy of computer-aided products functional structure creative design is researched. Research interrelated in this paper include: classifying of functional verbs, establishing functional verbs data base and mapping of functional verbs with objects property data base, besides, the strategy of functional structure multiple solutions based on functional verbs classifying and functional grouping is proposed. The method of appraising functional structure solutions is given, finally, the intelligent computer-aided design system-CAFSDesign v1.0 is introduced.The whole paper consists of six chapters. Chapter 1 is introduction, in this chapter, the current situation and trend of design theory, reasoning model is analyzed, the aim of present work and the structure of this paper is made certain. In chapter 2, a functional verbs classifying system is proposed, which can delaminate the verbs into different levels according the abstracting degree. The verbs that can be used in conceptual design field are summarized up, which are classified according to their used frequency. Thus, a functional verbs base is established, and the strategy of generating functional structure solutions is proposed based on functional verbs classifying. In the third chapter, the strategy of functional structure solutions based on functional grouping is proposed, a database about the mapping of functional verbs with object property is founded, and the general logical relationships between sub-functions are summarized and classified. In the chapter 4, how to appraise functional structure solutions is researched. According to this method, the matrix of the influences among the sub-functions is founded to guide to appraise the solutions. In the fifth chapter, the intelligent computer-aided conceptual design system-CAFSDesign V1.0 is introduced, which including 6 parts: Function definition, Verb abstracting, Verb filtering, Logical relationship design, Functional Grouping and Appraising model. Last chapter is the conclusion of the whole paper, and the suggestions for further research are given in this chapter, too. |
