With the rapid development of computer technology, control technology and communication technology, there are some advanced requirements for the function of industrial automation software. Process industry automation system, it is possible to integrate enterprise management with control through real-time database. Advanced Control for Process Industry needs provide data to support. Under this background, this paper studys design and development of real-time data platform based on OPC technology.Firstly, this paper introduces the necessity for platform and functional requirement, identifies the platform assessing mode. It presents the platform architecture design and analyzes the features of structure. Secondly, it introduces the knowledge of real-time data platform and OPC technology.Base on in-depth study of OPC DA specification and COM/DCOM distributed component technology, this paper focuses on the realization of OPC client software and real-time data platform. As far as OPC client, it chiefly analyzes the primary function, the preparation of development and the design of foremost Class. Then the client is tested. At last, this paper introduces the development of real-time data platform. As far as real-time data platform, it realizes the disk database and memory database, and then the real-time platform is tested.This real-time data platform based on OPC provides convenience for user to read and write real-time and history data without concerning about programming the driver. Users can pay more attention to develop arithmetic and excellent control plans. So this platform must be applied widely in the future.
