The wide use of power electronic equipment makes harmonic problem serious increasingly, and harmonic becomes the primary factor influencing power quality. For Active Power Filter(APF) can compensate dynamically harmonics whose frequencies and amplitudes vary and its compensation characteristics is immune to the impedance variation of electric network. APF becomes a key measurement to deal with harmonics, its research and application are widely studied.The background, development and future prospect of active power filter, the classifications and topology structure of the active power filters are described in detail in the thesis. Analyses are made on the operational principle of the shunt active power filter.The thesis studies the harmonic and reactive power current detection method. To overcome the disadvantage effects resulted from distorted supply voltage, A new harmonic and reactive currents detection method is presented. Shunt active power filter's control strategy is described in detail, adopts SVPWM to control the compensatory current, DC voltage controled effectively by the closed loop way.A simulation model of APF system is established with the software of MATLAB. The paper introduces shunt active power filter system 's hardware and software design with TMS320F2812 DSP. Hardware and software's structure and function are described in detail. Experiments are done on the experimental equipment of shunt active power filter. The simulation results and experiment results verify validity and effectiveness of the current detection method and the control strategy.
