The weather data acquisition system collects six kinds of weather data such as temperature, humidity, wind speed ,wind direction, rain fall, and air pressure.It has low-power, automation and flexible configure.The study is a cooperative project between Xintong Company and us.It uses MSP430 singlechip as core element to compose a principal and subordinate multiprocessors system. The system consists of manager, analog, digital, and communication modules.As a principal part, manager module uses MSP430F449 etc.to perform many tasks like real timer, information collocation, LCD display, keyset control, and MMC memory.As subordinate parts, the other modules use MSP430F149 ect., thereinto analog and digital modules deals with analog and digital weather signals respectively; communication module has RS-232 and RS-485 interface to receive orders from upper PC or sends data to upper PC. Principal and subordinate modules can transmit information to each other by SPI bus communication. SPI bus achieves efficiency credibility of communication. The software is programmed with C languane and is convenient to modify and maintain.At first, the paper introduces the whole function of weather data acquisition system; next, introduces hardware and software design of all the modules, including methods of selecting, controlling, and debuging the components; then, describes SPI bus communication, including how to frame agreement and program; at last ,show the notice points and final result.Test and practice indicates the weather data acquisition system is feasible. It not only meets the demand of data acquisition in AWS, but also offers a way for other data acquisition.
