Rotating machine is of great importance in electric power, chemical industry and so on. Detecting the vibration signal of the rotating machine in order to find out the failure condition of the rotating machine is economical and realistically meaningful.In this paper, the theory of rotating machinery fault diagnosis is discussed.The characteristic of the vibration signal of the fault rotating machine is described.The theory of the diagnosis of the rotating machinery fault is discussed.In this paper, the analysis of related theory proved that the fault vibration signal of rotating machinery is a signal which has some components with singularity.The theory of the application of wavelet to rotating machinery fault diagnosis is discussed. The theory of the application is simulated and discussed.In this paper, the practical background and the state of wavelet theroy is reviwed.Definition,time-frequency locations and ability to process singularity signal of wavlet transform are analysised and researched.The application to the signal processing are discussed.In this paper, the principles and features of the wavelet transform applied to the vibration signal detection are introduced. The analysis of the related theory proved that the dectction requirements of signal can be fulfilled by the application of wavelet theory as a candidate of Fourier transform.
