This research proposes a mode for the application of Soft Systems Methodology in the Instructional Design. Guided by Soft Systems Methodology and Instructional Design, it aims at making up for the shortcomings of traditional Instructional Design, expanding the problem areas that can be resolved by the Instructional Design through the application of Soft Systems Methodology, thus effectively improving the quality and efficiency of teaching. In chapter one, it briefs on the theoretical and practical backgrounds, outlines the current research status, and also defines the purpose and the methods of this research. This paper do study on the Soft Systems Methodology and it's application in the Instructional Design in-depth and detailed, using literature research , absorbing the valuable experience of previous studies, with the practice of the instructional design, from the perspective of the use of Soft Systems Methodology to solve the problem. In chapter two, first outlined the concept of instructional design and several viewpoints of its mode; then introduced the origin of the Soft Systems Methodology and its development process; finally elaborate on the mode of Soft Systems Methodology and the specific content of its various stages.Instructional Design and Soft Systems Methodology are formatted and developed in the latter part of the 20th century. Instructional Design is a subject which develops based on a variety of theory, whose study is at different levels of learning and teaching system. But Soft Systems Methodology, which addresses the problem is the soft border issues that are no clear definition, is in contrast to and also based on Hard Systems Methodology. The mode of Soft Systems Methodology includes two types of activities which are real world and systems thinking, and the seven stages. In chapter three, depth analysis the problem areas those are aimed at by the Hard Systems Methodology and the Soft Systems Methodology. Hard Systems Methodology and Soft Systems Methodology are different on the starting point of the form, and each with its own characteristics, so there is a great difference on their problem areas. Through discussing the characteristics and the scope of application of the two respective, and comparing the two methodologies, this chapter summed up the advantages of SSM to HSM in addressing the soft issues which are difficult to define. In chapter four, first through the analysis of instructional design, the only application of the methodology of the traditional thinking can not properly deal with the various problems existing in the Instructional Design. This, in view of the characteristics of the problem, with Soft Systems Methodology thinking, put forward that SSM can be applied in solving such problems and analysis its necessity and feasibility. Then expositing the advantages of the Instructional Design after applying SSM compared to the traditional Instructional Design from the areas of the scope of the problems, of the knowledge, inspire students to learn and help students cultivate awareness of the team, and eventually formed an application mode of SSM in the Instructional Design. In chapter five, the process of the soft issues are analyzed on the basis of the aforementioned content, according to the application mode of SSM in the Instructional Design. Then making the case design of the application of SSM in Instructional Design and doing the implementation of the case in the classroom practice based on the application mode and the process of soft issues. Finally, assessing the result of the implementation of the case, summing up its advantages and disadvantages to further improve it in the process of the Instructional Design in the future. In chapter six, summed up the contents of the transcript and reflection.
