Device management studies on devices themselves, uses intellectual technology and information platform, and takes steps to manage the whole life process of device scientificly. The researches about Device management system abroad have greatly matured, and they have developed effective asset management including ADM (Aid in Decision Making). But, in contrast, the level of research at home is lower.Based on the lack of management information and the burden of maintenance, researches both in theory and application about Device management technique have been conducted. The paper put forward a solution about industrial automation device management, and took the noumenal management of DCS system for instance. The solution is the same with general systems. The main works of this thesis are as follows:1. According to Device Management of entire life cycle, design the data model and database, and show the technical and economic target of device. It will be easier for company officials and technical staff to hold in hand the device status quickly and make the right decision.2. The functions of DCS Device Management system are designed into two parts. One is basic function including device information management, state management, maintenance management and form management. The other is advanced function including fault tree, inquiry based on technical target and so on. The overall hiberarchy of functional modules is built aimed to offer information support for Maintenance Decision.3. According to the characteristics and existence conditions of DCS, the solution combined B/S mode and C/S mode, adopted strength managerial approach, and developed proprietary database which is independent of supervisory and configuration system.4. Design and realization of the key parameters and devices management, including the I/O module, Communication module, switch, CPU, Power Supply, network load, humidity level and temperature of circumstances etc.
