In process of informationization on campus, various services were deployed one after another, which were independent each other. Users using these services must remember their information to login those services which result from different user system implemented by those services. The original service to be integrated into an existing unitive authentication system has to meet its interface requirement. In other word, it must be recoded to suit a unitive authentication system. To resolve the problem, we find a solution which is independent of services, scalable and integrate various services without modifying them. The main works include:1. We deeply analyze the existing unitive authentication systems including Portal, .Net Passport, and the variety of application systems in the campus LAN environment. The method by which the goal system is implemented is based on the protocol filters. In the Apache-based application system, we implement Apache filter by the Apache mod_perl technology; to integrate 802.1X authentication systems we implement network data filter by the firewall technology. These filters check and change the communication data between application systems, and complete process of login, logout and authentication for user.2. In the campus LAN environment we implement several components which form the goal unitive authentication system. The goal unitive authentication system successfully integrated the application system based on Apache and the 802.1X authentication system.3. The unitive authentication system provides session to the HTTP clients. Through which services of no user system is integrated. Integrating the application system and authentication system show that: the method effectively meets the formal requirements of integrating application systems. The method simply and effectively integrates the existing services including Apache based system and 802.1X authentication without modification.
