Benefited from the rapid development of graphics and the hardware's computing capacity, the speed of real-time rending of realistic animating scene is becoming more and more quickly. 3D virtual human's motion synthesis is one of the hotspots of 3D animation research topics. The appearance of Motion Capture technique have made human motion synthesis work more easily, and improved the efficiency of animation product flow. In fact it has been widely used now.Based on the features and rules of Rhythmic Gymnastics, this paper had made use of the motion capture technology, motion editing technology and physically-based motion synthesis technology, and finally developed a motion aided design system for Rhythmic Gymnastics. The system can assist the coaches to design the whole motion process for both individual athlete and team athletes. As a result, we could reduce the time, increase the design creativity and improve the quality.Briefly, we have provided the following contributions:(1) We implemented a Rhythmic Gymnastics motion synthesizer based on motion blending algorithm.(2) We implemented a motion path editor which used the uniform cubic B-spline to do curve fitting, editing and resampling.(3) The ODE physics engine was integrated into the OGRE rendering engine to simulate rigid body dynamics of the ball movements in the Rhythmic Gymnastics sports.(4) A motion aided design system for Rhythmic Gymnastics is developed. User can view the design results in 3D scene.
