As an important part of electronic warfare, communication countermeasure is drawing more and more attention in these years. The issue of how to protect regular work from interference caused by aggressive devices has become a big problem. Compared with the traditional communication methods, frequency-hopping (FH) has the advantages of anti-jamming, low interception, multi-address networking, anti-fading and compatibility with narrow-band communication systems. All these indicate that FH can be widely used in tactical communication field.Synchronization is one of the key technologies in FH communication system. A synchronization scheme which can be achieved by combining the synchronization-head and time of day (TOD) is studied in this paper on the base of several FH synchronization methods. The problems such as header of synchronization, synchronization capture and maintenance, and later accessing are studied in this paper. The performance of synchronization is analyzed through simulation. Finally, a software design for the FH synchronization is presented by assembly programming, on the chip of TMS320C5510 made by Texas Instruments Company. Experiment results show that high synchronization probability can be achieved on our radio sample.
