With the tendency of globalization, market competition is becoming more and more intense. More and more manufacturing enterprises begin to implement various management information systems in their management and operation processes in order to face great challenges from other competitors and meet various requirements from clients. Supplying, producing and selling processes form the most important value chain for a manufacturing enterprise. When a manufacturing enterprise begins to implement management information system, it will place more emphasis on how to make these three processes work closely with purpose of lower costs and higher efficiency.Producing, supplying and selling processes in a famous automotive engine manufacturer are studied in this dissertation. After analysis of these three processes, a producing-supplying-selling management system is designed and implemented according to software engineering methodology. This software is based on B/S structure (Brower/Server Structure). It also imports sales prediction model and grinding workshop's scheduling algorithm for engine connecting rod.This software is based on B/S structure and has following features:(1) The function that engine manufacturer and suppliers can manage part inventory together is realized in this software. Manufacturer's inventory can be kept at a reasonable level by using this function.(2) The function that buyer can order products on line is realized in this software. Middle processes in sale can be reduced in by using this functionHybrid prediction model and real-time scheduling algorithm are added to this software:(3) A sales prediction function is added to this software. A hybrid prediction model based on exponential smoothing algorithm and neural network algorithm is built to predict the future sales volumes of main products. With the help of prediction results, inventory can be kept at a reasonable level.(4) A scheduling algorithm for engine connecting rod's grinding workshop is added to this software. This scheduling algorithm is based on Branch-and-Bound algorithm and neural network algorithm and can make production more efficient. Suitable development environment, programming language and database are selected according to user requirements, software functions and other factors. Finally, a producing-supplying-selling management system is implemented for this engine manufacturer.
