This paper summarizes wireless optical communication system and the status of development, which also describes its characteristics and use. On the basis of this a single image signal transmission of wireless optical communication system is designed. A brief introduction is centered on the choice of laser devices, signal modulation and the system technical indicators. The details of the system's optical receiver are particularly described.The diameter of the receiving antenna is calculated through the analysis of indicators of the system so that the optics system is designed. Factors such as optical path loss are done in great details. The avalanche photodiode (APD) optical receiver modules are discussed, which includes the choice of photoelectric detectors, signal amplification circuit design, and the receive part of the noise, dynamic range, sensitivity, and other important indicators are also analyzed. A simulation of the image signal modulation and receive is achieved in the laboratory and different parts of the system's characters of waste and confidentiality are given qualitative analysis. An overall system debugging result is achieved, the schemes for improving are proposed.
