Owing to wide application of WDM technology, the bandwidth capacity problem which perplexes the development of framework network is resolved. The focus of research and construction in optical correspondence is turned round from Wide Area Network to Metropolitan Area Network gradually. Compared with the wide area network , the city area network has lower request in delivering distance(small in 100 km) and swallowing to vomit capacity, so optical correspondence system can be simplified. Along with business correspondence quantity increase, sometimes longer distance and more wave-length are needed for Metropolitan Area Network, this outruns the range CWDM can provide. But, the price of DWDM technology is too expensive and the cost is too high which makes the DWDM technique "nobility" in the network construction.The main research aim of this paper is the research on DWDM technology in the Metropolitan Area Network , and the DWDM system is established in this paper, insertion loss and Crosstalk are reduced, and the cost of in Metropolitan Area Network application is decreased. Pass to reply to insert to exhaust and crosstalk with the Multiplexing/ Demultiplexing machine on theories and experiment analyze, the DWDM technique make possible in the more widely application in Metropolitan Area Network.
