The technology of node self-location is one of the key technologies in WSN, because of restricted resources, localization algorithms in wireless sensor network need to consider location accuracy, price of network and costs of communication and computing in general. This algorithm utilizes mobile anchors and the characteristics of Centroid algorithm; this paper presented a node self-location algorithm of low-energy consumption, low-cost and high coverage percentage. In this paper, with the motivation of solving the beacon scarcity problem, we used only one mobile beacon to constantly broadcast its location in the network, helping the node to make range-free localization. At the same time, to improve the localization coverage percentage, we designed the iteration positioning compensation method. The algorithm proposed in this paper can decrease the beacon cost to the least, and get the special distribution of reference positions through controlling the moving route of the beacon, therefore can effectively overcome the beacon scarcity problem. The experiment result showed that localization precision of algorithm proposed in this paper can at least be the same with or a little higher than the static beacons based algorithms', and is fit for most applications; and the location coverage percentage of this algorithm is more efficient than other algorithms. Sum up the result in theory analyses and in simulation, algorithm proposed in this paper has higher practicability than the similar kind algorithms using static beacons, considering energy consumption, cost and usability. At last, the paper was studied on the application, we made an initial exploration for the hardware platform of nodes, introduced a node hardware platform which can realize node self-location, and implemented the algorithm proposed on our designed hardware platform, and supplied basic data for further research.
