User authentication, cash trading, dormitory management, and books-lending services are integrated into one Campus Card System, in which the security issues become more and more important. At the early phase of the Campus Card project, PKI (Public Key Infrastructure) was constructed among the card-readers connected by the wired network, to guarantee the data transmitting and storage safely. Now, kinds of convenient and quick card-readers are placed in most consumptive areas, which make many operations easier and make lives in campus more convenient.However, with the development of the wireless network, transmitting data by wireless network becomes an urgent request in the Campus Card System. One issue, that how to safely and quickly transmitted datas from the automatic wireless data collection system to the database to process, is presented to solve.WPKI (Wireless Public Key Infrastructure) is researched and constructed in this paper, for the automatic wireless data collection system, and a perfect security solution is given to guarantee the data transmitting from the wireless embedded data collection terminals to the database safely and effectively.In this paper, the entire architecture of the automatic wireless data collection system is analyzed, and WPKI architecture of the data collection system is deeply discussed, and finally a security solution for the data collection system is given. A WPKI architecture based on the user-defined wireless protocol is researched and discussed, and concretely designed according to the current network condition of DHU. Something creative in this paper are as follows: In the design part, a concept, "update preparing time", is introduced to avoid exceptions after certification expired; certification for the data collection system is designed and implemented according to the X.509 Standards; Certification Authority is constructed and its core solution is given; certification database is built. At last, implementation of the key part of WPKI system is presented. The task programs in the wireless data collection terminal, wireless station, and the database terminal are designed and implemented. Effective algorithms are researched and implemented, to adapt the embedded devices. Optimized libraries are introduced to increase the efficiency of the whole system.
