GPS is Global Positioning System for short, which can supply the exact position of the object both in air and on the earth. With the rapid development of space technology, GPS will take the great changes and far-reaching influence for us. With the rapid development of China's economic, the traffic on freshwater has been quite busy. It has an important meaning that how to mange the ships rapidly and efficiently. Nowadays, the GPS has been used in many fields, for examples, we can use it to get the target's exact position for plane and missile, and also we can use it to measure the speed and time if we need. So, using the GPS to mange the ship has been the truth.ChangHang Shipping Message Exchange System is the first time using GPS to mange the ship on freshwater in China. This system is quite mature, however, with the times going by; some functions should be modified to fit the reality. This project is the assistant solution of ChangHang Shipping Message Exchange System. This project mainly solved the problem that how to make the system handle the GPS message very well under the situation of no-man management. In this project, the following functions are accomplished: parsing the protocol, storing the received message, collecting and sending the data automatically and recording the working log. Additionally, the system is designed in NT service mode to fit the situation of no-man management. This automatic system in a certain extent solved the problem that ChangHang Shipping Message Exchange System met in practice. The application of GPS developed rapidly in China .In a few years, the wide implements of GPS have changed people's working ways, and take us great benefit in economic .In a word, the future of the application of GPS in China is very bright.
