In recent years, Optical fiber sensing technology is the fastest developing high-tech applications for its so many advantages such as resistance to electromagnetic interference, high sensitivity, and safety and reliability, corrosion-resistant, and can be conducted distributed measurement. Fiber fence distributed fiber sensing technology is used for real-time remote monitoring the unexpected incidents which happen in certain precision scopes. This technology will play an important role in the future in many areas such as military, national defense and security and protection of civilian monitoring. An embedded data acquisition system is designed in this paper, which is based on the back-end signal processing of fiber fence technology.SAGNAC fiber interferometer is a common technique in fiber fence technology. This paper will integrate embedded signal processing technology and optical fiber sensor technology, and design a data acquisition system for the backend of SAGNAC fiber interferometer signal processing. The data acquisition system uses ARM9+FPGA structure, ARM9 processor, a high-performance embedded processor Samsung S3C2410 and combines with a high performance FPGA to achieve high-speed synchronous acquisition of two channels. When the system combines with Ethernet, C/S transfer mode can be used to facilitate the locale data collection.The whole system will be illustrated form two parts as hardware and software in this paper. The net communication module, FPGA to ARM interface, data acquisition module will be introduced in the hardware part. Every link of the completion of the acquisition system is discussed from top to bottom in the software part. And with analyzing the popular BOOTLOADER VIVI, the paper points out its strengths and weaknesses. And according to its shortcomings, the paper proposed a way for improvement by expanding its function of the network. Finally, the paper deals with the specific processes and methods of network communication; Multithreading technology is used to maximize the capacity of the processor.
