With the development of network technology, embedded technology and video technology,it has made real-time network digital video data transmission and control possible. The embedded netvideo monitoring System is a kind of new video monitoring system based on embedded technology,video compression technology and network transmission control technology.At many aspects such as stability,real-time,processing speed,functions,price and scalability etc.,it has more outstanding priority compared with traditional video monitoring system.Thus,the research and development of embedded netvideo monitoring system have great significance.On the basis of referring to a lot of literature in the interrelated research domain and generalizing predecessors' research work,according to the actual situation we adopt the project of the embedded netvideo monitoring System which takes Web serve as its core and can meet the needs of industrial application.The system Embeds an embedded web server,adopts embedded real-time multi-task operating system;video signals sent by video cameras are compressed by the efficient compression chip after they are discreted,then sent to the built-in Web server by the internal bus;monitoring staff can access real-time video by the Internet browser on the remote site. Authorized users can also control the movement of the video cameras, tripod heads or operate the configuration of the system.The paper introduces the technology needed to be broken through in three aspects for designing the embedded netvideo server:image processing technology,Embedded operating system technology,and video transmission technology;and claims the overall design of embedded netvideo monitoring System; on this basis,designs a hardware platform based on the high-performance 32-bit embedded processor S3C2410 and specific video compression chip GO7007; completes the hardware design which includes the main chip,compression chip, Flash, SDRAM, network controller, RS232 interface etc.;introduces the chip type selection and detailed description of the working principle of the chip, and draws the Schematic diagram;in software design,completes the construction of a embedded Linux platform and explains driveing theory of every device based on Linux;aecording to the principle of Web server,establishes embedded HTTP server, completes Java Applet program design in Client and application, draws the the flow chart of program design and gives a few source code. At last, the paper provides a review and generalizes the work done,the inadequacies of the present system and the way forward to improve the performance. The system realizes a convenient and low-cost real-time image acquisition and transmission design, which has great prospect for further development and application in the future.
