As a mode of communication, the Power Line Communication makes use of the power distribution network as corresponding medium. With the development of digital communication technology and the PLC chip technology, it becomes the hot domain of current communication research for the remarkable superiority that needs no new wire, to cover the scope broadly and connection convenience.The pith of the task is researching and developing the low-voltage Power Line Communication modem. The major content and work in the thesis are as follow:1 .We analyzed the transmission characteristic of the Power Line Communication channel. Introduced the commonly Power Line Communication technology especially the Spread Spectrum Communication technology. It makes the theory foundation for the following design of the Power Line modem.2. In response to the character of low-voltage power line channel of China, combined with the need of this topic, we use the direct sequence spread spectrum communication ASIC of Power Line Communication PL3105 of Beijing Fuxingxiaocheng Electronic Technology Stock Co., Ltd as the core devices.3. We complete the design of software and hardware. The hardware including main circuit, power amplifier circuit, receiver circuit, and coupling circuit etc. and gives the measure of anti-jamming. In the aspect of software programming, communication protocol was designed between modules.4. Testing the hardware and the communication reliability of the Power Line Modem. The results show that the experimental waveforms correct, the BER is low.
