With the rapid development of our national economy and power industry, most regions have no limit to the electricity. Metering based on a household has been basically popularized. Carrying out the "power users'electricity information collection system" construction and realizing the goal of power companies for power users of "full coverage, full collection" are the important steps to implement the scientific concept of development and the national strategy for energy saving initiatives. Electricity data acquisition system based on power line carrier communication technology can save a lot of costs. The power industry pays more and more attention to the technology, and invests more and more to this area. Technologies in this area become more and more mature. Using electricity power lines to collect the information can save a lot of manpower, material resources and its development has broad prospects, for it need not occupy the tight supplies of wireless channel resources and build special communication network.This paper analyzes the current situation and existing problems of meter reading based on the low voltage power line carrier communication technology under the low-voltage distribution network in mainland China and proposes a solution- electricity information collection system via electric power line carrier based on orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) and direct sequence Spread Spectrum (DSSS) technology. This paper also analyzes the actual application situation of this system. The discussion of the paper is focused on the design of low-voltage power line carrier communication scheme. The contents of this paper include requirement analisys of low-voltage power line carrier communication, theories of OFDM and DSSS, implementation of the system and the description of the test results.It has been shown by practical application that this solution can achieve very high sensitivity and is better than the domestic similar products.
