In the paper, new methods which are applied unmanned device room remote monitoringare discussed, under central management monitoring and controlling system of campusnetwork device room. At the same time, a remote monitoring system, which is adapted to theunmanned device room, is applied in the campus network center, dormitories and labs. Theresult tums good.According to the actuality, two different methods, which are applied in dormitories, labsand network center, are put forward during the discussion. The data transmission is used twodifferent ways: wire transmission and wireless transmission. The remote monitoring terminalis developed on the principles of small size, low cost and high performance reliability. Themain work process include: discussing some problems of the sensors, selecting the digital andsmart humidity sensor SHT11 and the 1-wire bus temperature sensor DS18B20 which are notrequired adjustment, designing the ponding sensor and the door/window switch sensor andstudy emphatically the transmission distance of SHT11 and the impedance matching ofponding sensor. In the data transmission part, the wire transmission by the Ethernet and thewireless transmission by nRF401 are introduced. The wireless transmission protocol ofnRF401 is studied emphatically and the experiment of transmission distance and thereliability is carried on after that. The software of position machine is designed by VB and itis convenient to debug. At last, a reliable experiment is designed both hardware and software.The whole system has been in the network center for over one year. The fact have provedthat the design of the terminal performance is reliable and definitely meets the requirement ofthe unmanned device room monitoring. The whole remote monitoring system removes thesafety hidden danger of the unmanned device room and saves the human labour and materialresource. Therefore, the new technology is of promising application prospect.
