In today's world modern sci-tech competition centering around ITtends to be increasingly intense. All countries across the world haveattached importance in varying degrees to IT education in primary andmiddle schools. In order to face the future, the outer world andmodernization, our education must adapt itself to the trends of sociallycomputerization. With the deepening of this trend, many advancedcountries have realized that personnel demanded by the society must beinformation-wise cultivatedInformational cultivation equips every member of the informationage with an essential ability to survive and hence ranks among theimportant indexes for evaluating personnel's overall qualities. For onething, informational cultivation serves as the basis for abilities topractice and innovate. It can enhance the development of thinking ability,ability to solve problems, ability to make decisions and ability tocooperate. The integration of all the above abilities helps form the overallabilities of an individual, which will enable him to foster powerfulabilities to practice and innovate. For another, informational cultivationlays the foundation for lifelong study. Only being information-wisecultivated can a learner grasp the content of what he's studying, extendthe scope of his research he's engaging on and effectively control his ownself-study.Nowadays conventional teaching modes remain in use in theteaching of many subjects. However, the content of IT courses, whichis computer and web technology-oriented, is ever-changing, appliedsoftware is constantly emerging and web technology is evolving rapidly.If the teaching modes remain unchanged, students will find it verydifficult to master the methods to obtain knowledge, even if they learnhow to use a couple of software. Under this circumstance, the authorattempts to reform the teaching of IT courses by adopting themission-driven mode.The author exemplifies how to design and implement its applicationin IT courses instruction in the unit Web-making. In doing so the author intends to prove that the new teaching mode can improve students' schoolperformance, help them raise their abilities to solve problems with theassistance of IT and abilities to create and innovate.
