Research On Personalized Knowledge Service Of Digital Library

Content: The paper discusses the basic theory of personalized knowledge service of digital library firstly, then expounds the feature of information users' knowledge demands and the character of modern information service based on networked environment, summarizes the feasibility of the change that information service try to develop knowledge service. Secondly, the paper summarizes the research of knowledge service of digital library. Based on the analyses of the concept of personalized service and the concept of knowledge service of digital library, we argues that there exist correspondence between personalized service and knowledge service, and could provide new thoughts and development opportunities for each other. The paper proposes that personalized service should be set as the enterpoint of the implementation of knowledge service. This paper also put forward and discusses the viewpoint that the new thought of knowledge service should been introduced to personalized service, and the implementation of knowledge service should begin with personalized service. Consequently, introducing the thought of knowledge service to personalized service have the theory basement. Thirdly, the paper analyses the cases of knowledge service, such as MyLibrary@Cornell and the knowledge service of CNKI. The paper emphatically investigates the personalized knowledge service of CNKI and points out the strategy to develop knowledge service of digital library. Finally, the paper analyses the problems of the development of knowledge service and put forward the countermeasures.
