In order to check the operating conditions of the different types of circulating fluidized bed (CFB) boilers, the methods were proposed to realize the universality of the visual thermal calculations software for CFB boiler in this paper. The CFB boiler system was divided reasonably based on the idea of module design. And Visual Basic6.0 was adopted to make standard modules for common boiler heating surface and class modules for nomograms, charts and common numerical algorithms. At the same time the common CFB heating surfaces were made into component-buttons which could be used for the users to arrange the boiler configurations on the interface.The requirement of the diversity of boiler heating surfaces arrangement was met and the universality of the software was realized. In the end the calculation results were outputted on the relevant heating surface. The visual output of the thermal calculation results and the boiler configuration was realized simultaneously.In this theme the software was applied to check thermal calculation of CFB boilers which are of multiple parameters and multiple heating surfaces. Its main functions were as follows: 1. the thermal calculation for a total CFB boiler system or a single stage heating surface; 2. the boiler thermal equilibrium calculation and flue gas characteristic calculation,â‘¢the water and water vapor thermodynamic property calculation.At last the software was tested by CFB boilers of 35-3.82/450 type, 35-3.82/450type and SHF6-13-S type and the results showed that it had a certain engineering practicability.
