Research Of Embeded Radar Control Module In Radar System

Early radar system has simple functions, the request for radar's controlfunction is not distinct. But along with the development of radar, especi--ally the modern Phased Array radar, under the requests of tracking ofshort rang target, swift target acquisition and rapid switch of multi--beamforming in space, just using PC cannot meet all demands, even itis embedded VxWorks real-time OS. Thus, an accurate and real-timeRadar Control Module (RCM) is necessary. The main duty of the RCM isto communicate between PC and every subsystems. Basing PC'sinstruction, RCM accurately controls working time, energy distributionand searching space of the radar, receives states of subsystems, interpretsand reports it.The paper first introduces briefly the development and classification ofphased array radar, clarify the basic principle of radar controltechnology, systemically summarizes the main function, operatingprinciple and realization method of RCM in phased array radar.From the point of research and application, some importanttechnologies in the radar control module is designed and studied, includetype selection of CPU, hardware design of RCM, Ethernet interfacedesign of RCM, dual-module switch technology, software design ofRCM etc.Based on main function of RCM in phased array radar, the paperdetailedly discuss the practical design module based on AT91RM9200and ADSP-TS201, presents practically realization method and principledesign of embeded RCM. Lastly, lists the key method and process in themodule debug, software and hardware are debugged together in theaccomplished control module, main functions can be realized.Primary examination indicate that the controller shortened the real-timecontrol cycle of radar, ulteriorly improve the performance of radar, so ithas deeply meaning in the development and exploitation of radar controlin radar system.
