Following the fast development of the modern information technology, the researches and applications of image processing, especially real-time image processing catch great interests from researches all over the world. In recent years, the development of DSP technology has put the theory achievement of digital signal processing field into practical application systems and pushed the progress of new theory and application. At the same time, it plays an important role in the field of image processing. The DSP-based image processing system can be applicable in many kinds of practical fields.This topic designed a set of Furnace Strip Correction TV System based on in the DSP. It is a new generation of industrial TV system, which has functions of image acquisition under the circumstance of extremely low illumination, strip edge extraction, position measurement and making strip centered automatically all along. It can observe furnace work condition and correct the strip at the meantime.Firstly, this article introduced the background, the actuality and the content of the task; Secondly, it presented the TI's DSPs functions, characters and application technology; Thirdly, we expounded the hardware and software design methods of the real-time image processing system based on DSP; and then after making a deep research to the application environment and image processing, we developed an overall program system, which included Image Acquisition and Processing, the analysis of strip edge, Position measurement and automatic feedback control, program design and so on. Finally, the dissertation summarizes the system and introduces the prospect of the system in the future.
