End-gear with arc tooth is developed by Gleason company , it is a transmission function part with high accuracy, high rigidity and high bearing capacity, and it can transmit the movement and power between two revolve parts through the end surface tooth meshed. In view of its tooth profile design characteristic, it is widely applied in the indexing mechanism in recent years, and becomes the important basic transmission part of the high accuracy numerical control processing equipment.This article has analyzed the machining principle of end-gear with arc tooth, inferred tooth surface equation of convex and concave, given the geometry design method of end-gear with arc tooth, analyzed the stress situation of teeth and carried on the intensity examination. In addition to, it has carried on the computation to the machine tool parameter adjustment and the corresponding grinding wheel parameter design which needed to consider in the machining process of end-gear with arc tooth.In the foundation of theoretical analysis, established the computer assistance design calculation module, the module of grinding wheel geometry parameter design and machine tool processing parameter adjustment, the module of stress analysis and the intensity examination, and realized the preservation and printout of each computed results.The module of parametric two-dimensional graph drawing and three-dimensional entity modeling was developed on AutoCAD 2004 platform based on ActiveX Automation technique. It can draw out the grinding wheel geometry diagram and the design drawing of end-gear with arc tooth, and can construct the three dimensional entity of end-gear with arc tooth.Have discussed the indexing and localization characteristic of end-gear with arc tooth, proposed the principle of the geometry differential motion indexing, and inferred the equation of indexing. The programme was developed by matlab language to calculate the smallest differential motion scale interval, the number of end-gear with arc tooth's teeth as well as the number of teeth which end-gear with arc tooth must revolve. It provides the reference for the practical application of differential motion indexing mechanism.In view of the very high precision request for end-gear with arc tooth, when it is used in indexing table, this paper has inferred general deviation tooth surface equation of end-gear with arc tooth which contained the processing parameter establishment error, and unified two erroneous target----pitch error and tooth surface error (describe the error of deviation tooth surface from standard one) to construct the tooth surface geometric error modeling. With example analysis the influence of processing parameter establishment error to pitch error and tooth surface error, and drawn up the relational graph to describe its influence. It has provided the reference for the precision machining of end-gear with arc tooth.
