The Grid technique is the new computing technique brought forward in certainstage of computer technique and network technique. The Grid can be used tointegrate the heterogeneous and dynamic resources that are distributed in the widearea network to realize the sufficient share and various resources associate. ResourceManagement is the core and difficult aspect in realizing grid technology. In this paper, the concept of the Grid is discussed, and evolution process of grid system structure isanalyzed particularly. Furthermore, the content of job management is studied.Cluster system, which has the excellent Performance/Price ratio, scalability andapplicability, gradually become the main parallel computer architecture. With therapid development of computer and network, the high performance, multifunctional, heterogeneous computing is needed. Therefore, the Grid Computing has beensuggested to make sure of various network resources and carry out effectivecalculation. Job scheduling, which has great contribution to high-performancecomputing, is a very important problem, in the grid environment and the clusterenvironment.Via the summary work of the others, the job submittion handling mechanism hasbeen studied systematically. Based on analyze of the popular grid application, auser-defined task partition submittion algorithm is designed and realized. The algorithm is called WFJS(Workflow-based Job Submittion), which is based on theworkflow idea. Moreover, the resource assignment scheme based on the characters ofthe resource is suggested. And, a submittion tool according to the algorithm isdesigned. The design and implement of the grid computing application are alsospecified.Lastly, a summary is gived in the end of this thesis, which is included theimplementation problems of job submittion tool. Moreover, the studies which can bedone in the future, is also discussed.
