With the rapid development of communication and Internet, remote education was born. Virtual lab environment plays an important role in remote education. It makes great contribution to saving resources and reducing cost of devices, which has become a hotspot in research field. This paper proposes a digital communication principle platform which is prior to past and based on integration of Java and MATLAB through JMatLink. The purpose of the platform is to solve the insufficient resource and reduce the cost of software development based on components. It is also used for education. Its design and realization are divided into server and client. At server side, we develop an application using multi-thread technology which can improve the capability of accessing by many users, and use XML technology to save the information about components, meanwhile, MATLAB is also used for computing in the server, which enhances the simulation capability. At client side, we develop a Java Applet, utilizing Bean component technology to develop some laboratory devices, which have software reusability and can be extended, and the result of laboratory can be display dynamically. This paper takes PCM as an example to illustrate that how to develop a component and the running mechanism. It verifies the feasibility, manipulability, and has some practical value. At the end, this paper gives some current relative works, and proposes the perspective in the future.
