With the increasingly widespread application of wireless networking technology, wireless network security has become a hot issue. This paper introduced the security mechanisms of wireless network technologies, including WLAN, mobile network technology and so on. Then summed up network security are mainly manifested in two aspects of user authentication and data encryption. User authentication to ensure only authorized users can visit sensitive information and data encryption to ensure the data will only be received and understood by users expected. In wireless environments, data use microwave radiation to dissemination in the air. Hackers can interception, interception and damage user data in anywhere that wireless AP (Access Point) covered. So, wireless security issues become more conspicuous.PKI (Public Key Infrastructure) is security infrastructure that based on cryptography, and through the use of public key technology and digital certificates to ensure information security and to verify the identity of the holder of a digital certificate. It achieved certificates produce, certificate management, certificate archiving, certificate distribution and other functions on the basis of the public key encryption. It provided identity authentication, data confidentiality, data integrity and non-repudiation and so on for application system entities. However, the PKI is cable secure platform. The use of the RSA cipher algorithm, Diffie-Hellman algorithm make a system slower and waste memory space for X.509 certificates occupied a large space. These features are restricted it to be used for wireless mobile terminals, and can not solve the security problems in wireless environment. In 2000, the WAP (Wireless Application Potocol) Forum announced the WPKI (WAP Public Key Infrastructure) standard as an open standard to solve the wireless security problem.The diversification of technical mechanism makes security products developed on the basis of these exist the various problems such as labor repeat , unified interface, interoperability difficulties. But all of the technical infrastructures are based on security encryption and identity authentication. The author gave the design of a platform to develop WPKI products of and then the development platform is expanded for further used of the wireless network security. This paper was divided into four major parts. The first part summarized the wireless network technology security mechanism. It summed up that the wireless network security technology features a combination of encryption and authentication. After that the part focused on the principle the PKI, WPKI and the feasibility and necessity of the development of wireless network security platform. The second part focused on the design of the WPKI development platform and then detailed the design and implementation of the key platform support modules -- deciphering module and wireless CA (Certificate Authentication).And then gave the further design of wireless network security platform, and also design the key modules. The third part showed the application of development platform for wireless network security. It focused on the application for the wireless e-commerce system and the future prospects of the application of wireless network technology development. Finally, this paper gave a brief summary of the issues and explains the deficiencies and the need to be further improved.
