| As next generation network, NGN provides a variety of multimedia services, including voice, vedio and data, etc. As a multimedia communication technology over NGN, VoIP integrate the function of Internet and PSTN and support other voice application and multimedia application, such as fax, video and data, etc. Applications of NGN are getting matured and the market of VoIP is much wider than before these years. Based on embedded development method, two critical VoIP devices are designed and implemented in this paper. They are SIP multimedia terminal and H.323 voice gateway.In design and implementation of multimedia terminal, SIP and OMAP5910 platform are combined together which is designed for 3G wireless terminal by TI. According to the result of test, this terminal can provide not only voice, video and data transmission, but also advanced applications like white board and multimedia conference, etc. Thus it greatly enhanced the mobility and portability.In design and implementation of voice gateway, it was developped independently with H.323. The design and implentation include selection of chip and other electronic parts, design and manufacture; design of softwre system, coding of non-open source code; test of software and hardware. According to the result of test, the gateway can connect 4 telephone to Internet. The quality of voice communication is good. The performance of gateway has achieved expectables goal.The implementation of SIP multimedia teminal and H.232 voice gateway is an excellent base for NGN services and has significant practicality. The design and implementation of the two devices has referential value for other applications of VoIP and their development. |
