With the mature of the streaming media technology in China, the market demand requirements increase rapidly. In this situation, excellent compressibility performance of the video encoding standards will solve the problem of the bandwidth greately.Nowadays, the best video coding stardards are H.264, MPEG-4 and AVS.But most of the widely used clients cann't support them. A/V OVER IP project of lab was carried out under this background; the purpose of the project is to implement an open-sourced, expansile streaming media system based on IP network, which can support the excellent compressed video coding stardards. At first this paper has researched the structure of the multimedia system, related encoding technic and the streaming network protocol. The paper has studied how an open-sourced streaming media client is realized including the client structure and the decoding flow. After second development, the client can decode and display the H.264 files, the AVS files and the streaming media files from network now. Also, we have added the decryption and authentication client module in the client which can protect the copytight of the encrypted H.264 data or the encrypted AAC data.Secondly, accorording to the requirement of the project with the astronomical observatory observatory, this paper put forward a scheme which can solve the security transportation problem of the star image based on lots of research work on the cryptology. Besides, the paper has discussed the main realization technology about star image encryption, DRM server, authentication client. Besides, the key algorithmic realization is based on the open source library - OpenSSL.At last, the paper sums up all the work and gives the next betterment idea.
