With the development of Web technology and the increasing demand of modernmanagements, the applying range of information technology expands rapidly, whichresults in the size and complexity of software systems. It is urgent to improve the softwaredevelopment productivity and software quality. To solve this problem, software reuse isundoubtedly an effective way. Software Architecture emerges as a new field of softwareengineering researches in recent years. Domain Specific Software Architecture (DSSA)has become the biggest hot spot. DSSA provides reference architecture for application ina given domain, which is very important to develop reconfigurable, reusable and scalableapplication systems. DSSA embodies the commonness of systems in the specific domain. It abstracts the common features and dynamic behaviors from systems of the specificdomain. Man can cosmically realize software reuse, thus reliably, effectively and quicklydevelop a series of software products in this domain. This thesis firstly surveys the foundations of software architecture with the emphasison the DSSA's composition and DSSA-based software development. Then it discusses thedomain Health Inspection and Supervision (HIS). The requirements and commoncharacters of this domain are distilled and described. A reference model of softwarearchitecture and the hierarchy models for HIS are proposed. A group of softwarecomponents which are possibly applied in HIS are proposed. Finally, the author appliesthese models to the architecture design and partial implantation of an occupational diseaseHIS system. The system uses the pattern of multi-tier B/S, and is developed by means ofDSSA development method and reusing the HIS domain software architecture. Thesuccessful development of the occupational disease HIS system demonstrates theimportant roles of DSSA in the rapid development of domain applications.
